Every time I go into one of our local Wal-Marts and need assistance, the employee can not speak English. When I asked a manager why this was, I was told Wal-Mart doesn't like to discriminate. So I guess it's up to me to search out an employee who can help me with my question in English. What really gets me is these non-English speaking employees wear a vest that says (in English) "How May I Help You?" It really should be written in Spanish or have a disclaimer at the bottom that if you ask them a question, all you'll get is that blank look of confusion. I don't consider myself a bigot, but my tollerance is wearing thin. I wonder if they'd put a blind guy at the cash register so as not to discriminate?

This is for "Cliffy", why is it that people like you always feel it's everyones else's responsibility to "step up" as in learning another language. I already speak the most common language in this country... English. These people who have not been here probably half as long as I have have not made the attempt to learn a new language. You are correct, English is not the "national" language. And I can tell you something else, neither is Spanish. If they feel so drawn to their native tongue, then move the hell back to that crap hole country and habla Spanish all day long. As for lifers at WallMart, yes there certainly are some there. It's their choice, what ever. As for me shopping else where, again, It's up to me to change? I fear there's a revolution in the not to far off future and it'll be about taking back the US for US Americans.
