Especially that this new idiot has become president, and now all the working men are going to be forced to give some of their hard-earned money to the people who are too lazy to work. Thats not what the American dream should be, nor is it what our forefathers fought for.
God bless America, but to hell with this new economy.

The U.S. has made it through a lot tougher times than this and has made it out okay eventually. I don't think this will be any exception. You can't really expect everything to be solved overnight, however.

Economies collapse all the time.
America was leading the world through the late 90s till recently on an investors dream of low credit, high returns and all that.
But the money has now come tight, the returns are now looses and a lot of investors and trading houses are in very exposed situations.
The Great Depression of the 30s, was resolved by putting hope back into the nation, the Fed underwriting the well managed banks and closing down the bad ones.
It changed America for the better in many ways. And rekindled the American Dream.
Obama most likely will make things get worse though. Because a lot of the politicians who run the Democrats (Rohatyn, Soros etc) are still making money and in a better position with such a bad economy.
Though if you start pushing to get changes made for the Common Good, pushing Congressmen to act for the Common Good. There is a high chance a solution can rise out of this.
