I had a dvd box set up for auction on Ebay. Its not a boot leg and its not reproduced and the pic was fine. It was up to $80.00 in bids. Ebay canceled it when it only had a few hours left to go. They sent me an automated like with possable reasons why it was canceled. When I asked for spacifics, they said they couldnt give me any for security reasons but they though my lising looked (suspiciouse)? I told them it wasnt an acceptable answer and I had the right to know, they wont email me back. What dose that mean. I put it back up and its only at $60.00. Im really upset, if it dosent go for $80.00 like it did before, Im going to cancel the auction and sell it on Amazon.com. Ebay really made me upset and Im thinking about not doing buisness with them unless I have to.
Any one else have this problem?

This happends when people reports your listing or something in your listing description is not allowed anymore ...like accepting cash.actually I think ebay have to look deep into this department ,sometimes I think some users report it because they want to avoid items competition...Some same items are openly selling while others are banned...makes no sense... |

Yes. Reasons being: They risk being sued for bootlegged copies and have cracked down on dvd and cd sales that don't look legit or come from sellers that do not have a lot of previous sales. I've noticed most dvd sales on Ebay come from established sellers with stores.
Try reading the Ebay sellers forum for tips on how to sell and what you need to show in your add to stop it from being removed.

I rarely sell on there as most of what I owen is unsellable. I do have bumps in the road with buyers on occasion.
do you have alot of feedback? it's hard to be trusted unless you have a decent amount of feedback. it only means you know what's going on, and you've been around the "ebay block". |

They have implemented an automated system to look for illegal auction items. Obviously it's not perfect! They can't provide u with specific info because it was a legit auction and doing so will open them to being sued. Hopefully they won't charge you relisting fees. |

Try a fixed price on craigslist.org... It's free and is really picking up, like the new craze..

I quit selling on Ebay because their fees are too high. They bought paypal and the prices for that are too high too. As a seller there are fee's to place the ad, fee's when it sells and fee's to collect with paypal. You can't sell small items on ebay anymore unless you sell in bulk because the fee's are higher than the items value. I still buy other peoples stuff on ebay, but I don't sell anymore.

No one is forcing you to sell on Ebay. It is a business like any other and you have to play by their rules. If they find out that you relisted the item after they had removed it, they could kick you off there for good. |
