Im a receptionist now and it is so easy i find it almost boring!!! I was a Personal Assistant to an operational manager in a large company for 3 years and the job spec kind of sound similar to the stuff i did there. I really enjoyed it and once I got the hang of it it wasnt that hard, I also had a great working relationship with my manager so that helps.

This part is administrative, it sounds beyond the scope of a receptionist. The rest is perfectly ordinary. If the job pays well, then the diary portion would be fair.

I have been a receptionist and a PA, and I'm actually quite an unorganised person, but I did fine, it's a case of multi tasking and prioritising, but this ad actually sounds fairly straightforward and not too hard. The key is if you go for the job be confident say yes you can definately do it, and then just learn as you go, what's the worst that can happen? You can always quit before they fire you! Be confident, look and sound professional, don't be intimidated and Good Luck

the Real Question here is
Does it seem Difficult to you?
Are you Qualified for the position and able to do the Job Description list above?
seems to me that you might need to be more knowledgeable
that just sitting at a desk having a nice phone voice and greeting people when they walk into the office.
Some Receptionist postions are basic beginner spots others
intale a great deal of responability and experience in several areas like listed above,

I've worked on the reception in my office a few times and I've had to do this. It was easy to do and I picked it up in minutes even though i don't normally work reception and had never worked on a reception before.

They make it sound hard so that less people apply so that it takes less time to interview people but it really is quite simple when you are shown what to do.

All the best!

I work for the state as a clerk typist II, I must say, that from the sounds of your job descriptions, you are actually doing the job of a receptionist and administrator. It would be ok to do, as long as you are being paid the right and fair amount.
Alot of offices anymore are trying to combine the two and not pay the person the fair amount, so just do your own figures and if you feel you can handle the job and feel that the pay is fair, I would go for it then.
Once you are trained and know what you're doing, the job will come easy to you, but if you have that feeling that you won't be able to multi-task like that, then I wouldn't even attempt.

keep in mind that you wont be performing these duties all @ once~ you just have to get a routine down that works~ then youll be able to do the job with your eyes closed~ good luck!

Nothing about this job would be too difficult for a person with excellent organizational skills. However, what concerns me is the high level of responsibility it carries. This seems like a lot for a receptionist. In my company, Diary Management and raising letters for Directors is strictly an Executive Secretary responsibility.

Not knowing the size of that company nor the pace they maintain, it is hard to say. The level of responsibility is what is most important. It had better pay pretty well.
