Anybody else think greedy UAW killed American auto industry?
I'm sad for GM, it's on it's last legs, I'm also pissed off at the UAW/Unions for contributing to kill the American auto industry in general. Those greedy union bastards wanting $35.00 to screw wheels on cars is greed.
Also, the unions are like leeches, the more you give them, the more they want. So, in essence unions were negotiating their industry's demise.
So, yes, I feel unions helped throw GM off the cliff. Opinions?
It is a sad situation. I think people fail to see that business are hurting because of the demands placed on them. There are too many people in the world who are willing to work for a wage. Here in the USA. people want a wage, medical coverage and retirement benefits. If you were running a business, ask yourself if you would want to hire someone with so many demands.

They may have contributed but the main reason that GM is dying is the inability or lack of vision to make cars that Americans wanted to buy.

Unions were a big factor in raising costs and making the company slow to respond to changes in the market. I hate that most American cars are "disposable", they only last 3-5 years. I've never had a Japanese car die on me before 200,000 miles. And GM was very poor about giving cars with good mileage.
