Anyone know when the recession will end?
Also what the outcome will be?
Additional Details
I asked if anyone knew because I know some people who are closely looking at the stock market, in the know how of the news, politics, banking, exchange rates and businesses log onto yahoo answers.

No. Nobody knows. People have opinions, and my opinion is that we're probably just heading into it, and that it will last at least 5 years, but it could be shortened by handling it properly. The reason for this recession is not the superfulous things that you'll hear about on the media. Banks, Housing, Loan scandals, these are all symptoms of the problem. The Problem is that people are being paid less, and working longer hours than they were in 1979 before the Economists started teaching the "free trade" mythology. There is not "free market." It doesn't exist. Without government to set the rules, there would be no capital to pass from hand to hand. A barter system (which I guess could be considered free trade) is a victory take all, violent economic system, and we haven't had one for 3000 years. The fact that you hold money in your hands, wealth backed by the power (or lack thereof) of a Government, proves there is no such thing as Free trade in modern society.
So, what are the "free trade" people really arguing for? Imagine a road system without road signs. Where if you neighbor buys a tank, he can run over your car, and not be thrown in jail. Where there are no speed limits, no stop lights, no "field of play" in the game of vehicular traffic. Well, "free trade" mythology tries to set up the same system for the Ultra rich, so that large companies can eat small ones, and huge companies can eat large ones, and Multinational Corporations can eat up the huge ones, until we're back to a Kingdom. (You don't vote for the CEO of any companies you buy stuff from)
The main reason this system fails (and always has through history, in the 1880s, 1930s and today) is because with noncompetition, and collusion (Look at how many CEOs are on multiple boards, and how many board members are on boards of competition companies) create a situation where the worker is paid less and less until he can't afford to buy anything. No company will make a product that can't be bought. Aggrigate Demand is the main economic law that is not taught in economic classes anymore. Companies never take Aggrigate Demand into account, and shouldn't because they are the Cars driving. It's the government (the road signs) that needs to take Aggrigate Demand into account, so it can set up a "field of play" that benefits every citizen willing to give up hours of their lives to work.

not any time soon.the money bush gave to the banks has to be paid back within 2 years.with a new president taking office we are all agreed that the new man has one hell of a mess to clean up from the bush regime.all i can say is .we are in a recession but when the depression
does hit ,we will take down other countries as well.i am scared for my children and family.

Wait just a second, I'm going to get out my crystal ball.......okay, here it is.

I see, I see, yes, it's all becoming clear to me now...ah yes, here it is...

The recession will end all in good time and the outcome will be an economy that bounces back well, just like the outcome of every other recession before it. It's what happens in the meantime that should concern you.

It will not being to end until we have a change in economic direction.

We've funneled money UPWARDS to the most wealthy for too many years in the forms of big-money based financial policy. You can only squeeze the middle class so long before there's not enough left to squeeze.

In other words, if McCain gets in, get ready for a long recession & depression.

you know what, I could go on and on and rant and rave and curse and cuss about this recession for hrs but it's not worth making any predictions at this point since this downward spiral has just started..it's really just the start of a depression..anyway americans can count on major economic bail-out changes that are just starting to take off to matter and make a difference for the benefit of the majority...(which majority? your guess is as good as anyones at this point)...at the end of at least one or two new administration terms..thats 4-8yrs at least..it took 8 yrs to get to this point so go figure~~peace
