Are HSBC likely to charge me for going overdrawn?
Yesterday i exceed my overdraft by about £4 - I have now paid in money to this account as I realised this morning I had gone over my overdraft and I am just wondering do you think the bank will charge me for this? (even though it was only a matter of hours that i was overdrawn by £4?)

Many thanks

gowjous :)

Probably not - but it's worth giving them a call 08457 404404.

They have been really harsh on me lately!

Yes. They probably will. Banks are money grabbing feckers.

Yes, I am sure they will. They used to do it to me. I don't go overdrawn these days. They will probably give you an agreed overdraft if you go in and see them and then you won't have to pay a fine.

I can't quite understand why you have not rung HSBC. They are the only ones who can tell you. All the opinions here are just guesses, based on different experiences.

Do what the poster above says and ring. If you think that they may not have noticed and your ringing will alert them - well, think again my little gowjous friend, they miss nothing!

doesnt matter if its over drawn for 1second and only by 1p unless u've got an agreed overdraft with the bank they will charge u and its usually £20+ they're piggies like that.
you can write to them and sometimes they give it back "as a gesture of goodwill"
i wrote to my natwest account told them i cant afford the £26 they charged me, as a student i can barely afford to eat and pay my bills on my income, they called me in 2days and said they would give me my money back dont do it again :-D
give them a good story and good luck x

even if they have charged your account for overdrawn fees.
call customer service, and tell them the situation, lot of times they are allowed to void first few times. if one don't do it call another person. don't let your money go easily.
