As a tesco share holder i was utterly disgusted to find that tesco was giving away free bottles of water......
in the recent floods surely they should of been selling it at three times its normal price due to supply and demand. wots wrong with tesco's these days have they forgot about the share holders????????

I'd be livid if i had shares in them, you should call for the chairman's job resignation. Its this sort of shoddy mis management thats brought our once great nation to its knees.

Nick B
don't worry. this is just a promo gig. i looked at them. they've got some good top brass. you're money's safe with tesco.

They didn't give them away. They swapped them for advertising (on the news, no less - brilliant market penetration) and goodwill.

A worthwhile investment in my opinion.

but what would you do with the extra dosh? You would only spend it on fried eggs and bacon. So in the end you live much healthier and longer when the Tesco share drops.

ken613uk
The solution is in your own hands. Attend the next A.G.M. and make your feelings known. Presumably the guarantee of looking an absolute twonk won't worry you!
Incidentally, it should be "should have" and not "should of" and "what's wrong" with......

As an intelligent Shareholder you should be aware that there is method in Tesco's madness. It will do wonders locally for Tesco's image. May ultimately even mean more dosh for you.

These guys have people paying for water you get out of your tap for free, they know what they're doing.

Citizen DeCat
No, it's what's known as a loss leader.

They sell or give away a small number of products at a loss in order to intice people in to the stores, then use clever marketing (like the smell of bread and stuff) to get them to buy expensive things they don't need, at a massive mark up.

lowjoy
Well you are the pits..... Perhaps next time we have flooding you will get washed out and then you will be aware of what people need.. !! Sorry if your dividend went down a couple of pence, we will do a collection for you, if you are in dire need.
