At Wal-mart, do you get payed more to work in a department (Electronics) then as a normal cashier?

Yep, Electronics is a higher pay class, and a service department. You need to know more to work over there also. So yes, they will pay you more. Its in the same pay class as departments like sporting goods, automotive, lawn and garden and hardware.

i am not sure how it is at your store. But cashier is a pay grade three or four and elec. assoicates are a five i believe. it is that way at my store. So yes you would get a little raise. If you go in to your career prefence thing on the wire, you can view different departments pay grade. Hope that helps. Do forget that every store is different. And your it is a okay job. THe people that diss walmart probably didnt get hire or got fired.

I think so, the electronics dept. is a higher pay level - but I'm not sure if that is just the dept. manager or all associates in the area. Ask someone in personnel or an assistant.
