OK this could be a book I'm sure, but I will try and give the shorter version.
I work for a big company, I dont want to say which one but I will let you know it is a fortune 20 company. I work in sales. I did something at work that may or may not get me fired if anyone found out. Someone found out. He said he wouldnt tell anyone. Then a week ago we were talking about who is going to sell more, and he said something like...." Well if you out sell me then I would just tell what you did and get you fired"
Now my company also has a strict no drug policy, and I know for a fact that this same guy that has dirt on me smoke weed ON HIS LUNCH BREAKS! and comes back to work. I have never hit him with..." well if you told then I would have them drug test you" but I was thinking about it.
Questions- If I told a higer up about this guy doing drugs, do you think they would drug test him and fire him? Should I mention to him that I would say something if he did?

Why don't you just ignore what he says and do your best to sell whatever it is that you sell. If you cave into what he's doing, then you will be miserable the rest of the time you are working there. If you try to blackmail him back, then you are no better than he is. If he does tell on you, own up to what you did. Or if you have some confidence in your bosses, just tell them what you did and be prepared to accept the consequences. If I were in your situation, I would own up to what I did and if it doesn't work out then oh well (there are other jobs out there), it's not worth jeopardizing your character over, but it's a choice that only you can make. |

I would walk a straight line, friend - See my boss and let it all out - " I am sorry I did what I did, I did not think I was doing anything wrong, It will no happen again " - Then I would stay away from that other idtiot - And if anything ever came out, I would take him aside and say " If I ever catch you smoking weed again, you 've had it " - OR LEAVE IT ALONE !!!

Casualey be walking around on lunch with a higher up guy or someone that tells on everyone and just so happen to find the guy smokin. Even if he told on you after that they wouldn't believe a pot head anyway and would probabley assume he wanted some heat on someone else. |

The solution is very simple.
If you outsell him then you give him the money.
I asume you get some extra money for your sells.
Just keep your sales low enough to let him outsell you.
If by chance you still outsell him just let him know you will give him the money if that ever happens.
If he is fired because of you he will figure it out and he will probably kill you or at least beat you.
You are walking on very thin ice.
If you are not careful you will lose a lot more than your job. |
