go to unemployment office and ask for the veterans representative, they will be able to give you the best job offer and you can get the job you wanted. with your qualifications you should be place into higher position...
other option, go to federal building and check out their position availability.. |

You can do those things, but I'm not sure that's the best way for you to go about it. Those jobs are public knowledge, 300 million Americans can find those. Yes, your experience is great and the security clearance is important to the kind of jobs you'd want, but the hard part is getting noticed in the herd.
What you should do is identify companies that are in the Defense Industry, and narrow it down to those that produce things you are at least familiar with; their purpose and use by the actual soldier/sailor. Look at what they are doing, where they are doing it, and figure out where they need you (not where they have openings).
Then contact their Personnel department, and find out how to get interviewed. I think that your security clearance alone will get you an interview, even if the Personnel department doesn't have anything for you right now, they might want to see if you're worth keeping on file. That means that you will be likely to get a call for a job that you probably would want, BEFORE it goes on Monster.
If you go through the want ads, the first question they will have is "why do you want to work HERE?". By seeking them out before they have an opening, you've set yourself apart by telling them that in your initial phone call / cover letter.
Find the job you want ask for it before it is available. |
