I keep reading that all these big companies are laying off employees. Circuit City, Viacom, IBM....and the list goes on. Their profits are hurting and people are losing their jobs. This is the effect of the 'trickle down' theory. Yet, people still claim it works.
Middle class can't afford to purchase products from these companies. Which in turn leads to layoffs and closings. So those of you who believe the trickle down policy really does work, explain to me how it works because I'm obviously not getting it.
This isn't meant to be snarky. I really want to understand why you think it works. Maybe I'm missing something. |

In response to your question for the best understanding go to your local library and ask the reference person to find several books on the theory. Trickle down works in some situations but as you point out in others it does not. Unless you read the theories yourself it will not really make sense. |

The layoffs were not because of the trickle down theory. Trust me. That theory has not been put into play because if it was..and if Bush had done a good job none of this would have happened. McCain knows how to fix it and he will if elected. Let me put it into perspective for you.
A rich man has earned 500,000 dollars in 6 months. A poor man who either works one job at say mcdonalds and has a wife and kids..or none at all earns maybe 5,000 dollars in 6 months. So you take that rich man's money..say 2,000 of it and give it to the poor man. How can he use it to better the economy and give back? He won't! He won't even use it to get an education. He will quickly spend it on brand name clothes, car, etc...Do not give to the poor when they can't give back. If you lower taxes for the rich *because they do deserve it* then they can lower taxes on their good, and lower prices. Also with the health care plan companies will be able to have more money to offer more jobs for their expanding businesses because they won't have to spend the money on benefits. Absolutely brilliant. You would think that you would have to build from the bottom up. But you can't. Not in today's society. If you give the poor money over and over..and say they end up not so poor anymore then they will not be allowed welfare and that will make them mad. so they have to sit around just so they can depend on the government to take care of them. *no offense to all poor people* just some. I am poor my family of four brings in 36,000 a year. But we are working our butts off to save and save so we can change and better ourselves.

So it makes sense to further tax these companies and force them to provide health insurance.
So we should give those layed off employees just enough money so they can barely survive because this will create trickle-up-economics.
I don't know but it seems to me it would be a better idea to help the companies so they can create jobs where people can make a decent living instead of making the poor poorer and the rich broke. |

It is a brainwashed bunch who believe it that..Instead of logically figuring it out they just go along cause it was what they were told..the truth is we have to build a strong foundation & that would be a better way for them to understand the economics that would work for us..the are laws such as the law of circulation & I tell them if they get sick it is cause something gets stagnated such as the flow of blood to your feet..if this happens you will fall over..but there are a bunch of very wealthy people who can afford to brainwash people to vote against themselves. I have been here at y/a for several months & thought it would help me get understanding but have not got one bit of it..I only understand these people need to stop watching fox news & listening to Rush Limbaugh...the need to learn to discern & maybe get away from their church & learn to think for themselves, to learn they have an inner guidance system..when people get to a high level spiritual a crisis can happen to teach them not to listen to anyone except God & that is what happened with the Rev. Wright thing with Obama...so they need to be educated & if I am wrong I would love for them to educated me. |
