Patent search with a patent lawyer. 2 Results in your favor have same lawyer do all the requirements to send to the patent office.3 When you get your patent pending status. Most companies won't look at your idea unless you have a patent pending application number. Then pitch your idea with your submission so the company understands completely how your invention works. They can im sure you should call the companys that u want to sell your idea to and set up meetings and make sure you have a presentation to help them better understand your idea and then if they like it and want to buy it make sure you have a lawyer present now what you should also do to protect your idea is to type it up put a stamp on it and have the post office cancle the stamp
now that docoument is a legal docoument in the eyes of the law for a little extra security
