Can an employer force you to work more than 40 hours a week?
No overtime pay, no incentive, nothing. They want to mandate a 50 hour work week for all salaried full time employees.

In CA, there are labor laws for hourly employees - they have to take a lunch, and they have to be paid for overtime for all worked hours over an 8 hour period in 1 day in addition to all worked hours over 40 hours in a week unless on compressed work week schedule. However, salaried exempt employees do not fall under this mandated overtime pay. Salary non-exempt do, meaning, salaried employees not exempt from overtime pay. The best thing for you to do is visit your state's labor law page becasue each state is different. If you are salaried, and there are no overtime laws, then you should negotiate a higher salary.

In the United States if you are salaried, unless you have a written contract saying otherwise, yes they can.

I have been in the workforce for over 35-years and have been salaried most of the time and working a 50-hour week is no big deal. You work as many hours as it takes to get the job done.

You need to review the wage and hour laws for your state.

All the states are different about what is overtime and other issues.

You can find these online.

bullet b
yes if they are your slave master.

If you let me know the name of your company I will send at least 100 mexicans willing to work 80 hours a week for $4.15 USD per hour.
