More recently, several companies have been caught back-dating stock options. United HealthGroup, Brocade, Comverse, Home Depot, Apple, MacAfee, Boston Communications Group and over 100 others may have violated this rule. |

My ex partner re-wrote financial records to show a general loss in our company for the year that we were in business. We paid ourselves plenty of money, but he cooked the books to look like we went broke.
The IRS was VERY interested in his reports.
I claimed a personal gain myself, and paid the taxes. No problems. |

Why not look at the US Government? President Bush just went on TV, last week, telling the country that the Federal budget deficit was $250 billion, for fiscal year 2005. However, the Government actually had to borrow $620 billion, during that same period.
If the deficit is defined as the difference between the amount of money received by the Government, in taxes, and the amount of money that the Government spends, then how can the President say that the deficit was only $250 billion, when the Government actually spent $620 billion more than it received? |
