Can anyone tell me if it's mandatory for a company in MO to have an employee policy handbook?
The company I work for has not provided one for any of the employees, can't produce one when asked, but always refers to regulations in the policy handbook. Several people have lost vacation days and pay due to the "supposed regulations" because they never knew they the rules exsisted. I know the laws vary from state to state, but I need to know about Missouri only.
I don't think that it is mandatory in any state. However, if you find that there is a problem with them quoting regulations, then whomever is having the difficulties should contact the labor board in MO and find out exactly how to go about getting them or what needs to be done. They would be the agency that would be able to give you the best info for this situation.

If management refers to regulations in this policy handbook, then they are required to make it available to all employees.
If they don't, one should contact an attorney, especially if people are being docked money and vacation days.
