Can someone please helpcome up with a name for an employee engagement luncheon?
We are starting these luncheons at my job. Small groups of emplyees will participate in team building activites and have time to socialize. It needs a snappy work appropriate name. I work for Nationwide Insurance so a play of words using that would be great, but does not have to be included. Anyone have any ideas?

How about "The Nines" Standing for something like: Nationwide Insurance Nurturing Employee Strengths or Nationwide Insurance Networking Employee Skills.

I suggest the number Nine because you said small groups of employees, and although I don't know how small, possibly the number could be 9 per group. In addition the Number 9 has been used to denote excellence. I have copied and pasted some information about the use of the number and word Nine for your information.

Origin: The phrases 'to the nines', or 'to the nine', were used to indicate perfection - the highest standards. Example: "How to the nines they did content me."

While no one knows the origin of 'to the nines' it is worth noting that nine has been used as a superlative in other contexts. Classical mythology gave us the nine Muses of arts and learning. The Nine Worthies were drawn from the mythology, history and the Bible. This distinguished group was Joshua, David, Judas Maccabæus, Hector, Alexander, Julius Cæsar, Arthur, Charlemagne, and Godfrey of Bouillon. We also have the nine days' wonder. All of the above would have been well-known when this phrase was coined.

A more recent link between nine and excellence is 'cloud nine'.

See also - the whole nine yards.

Hope this catches your fancy...

Although I think 'snappy names' make work places come off as totally lame, you could go with something really simple like 'lunch socials'. My experience; keep the name simple as most employees can see thru BS like water

ON YOUR SIDE TO SOCIALIZE

datgirl88
How bout something simple like "Lunch Bunch meetings" or "Meet & Eat" ??

Maybe they can be POWER luncheons.

Or better yet N.I.C.E. lunches (National Insurance Cooperative Efforts)

Ok, maybe corny.... but its all I got right now.
