Can you please explain what Enron is?

vickyknows
Enron was a major fiasco. They didn't have the money needed for their operations. They realised that they can make money if they show that they are making profits thereby increasing their share price. They hired the most brilliant minds to work for them and paid them well. Its a story of greed & the fact that money can make man blind. Enron had stronghold in the government, so were able to get away with a lot before law finally caught up with them and they became bankrupt. They also made a lot of money by creating artificial shortage of electricity in california and then selling power at outrageous rates.. This is enron very very briefly.. for more details google up enron..

Enron Is a failed energy company that looked very promising. Millions of Americans invested in Enron and lost large sums of money in their scandal.

stitchfan85
no offense, but where have you been the past year?

josephnathancohen
An energy company that basically attracted a lot of investors by lying about how well they were doing. It was a big scam, and, eventually, they could no longer hide the fact that they weren't doing so well. When it came out, the company went belly-up and tons of people lost the money they invested in Enron. People lost their savings.

Enron was an energy company based out of Texas. It went bankrupt when their higher ups; CEO, CFO, President, "cooked" the books.

"Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" is a good book, and also an excellent documentary (Woo Hoo...movie!!) on the subject. Check it out, literally!
