I'm a Christian and believe in the power of prayer, but I'm not sure whether it's appropriate to begin a company talk that way. How about an inspirational poem instead?

The Summer Day
Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean--
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down--

I don't know exactly what a prayer is.

unless the company is in such bad shape that you think prayer is the only answer, i don't understand prayer at a business meeting. another exception might be that the company is one of these so-called christian organizations meeting to count the money they've scammed from fools. |

If it a business environment im not sure how appropriate a "prayer" is considering you may have people from varied/diverse religious backgrounds and it is not appropriate to force them to participate in prayer. Religion has no place in the workplace unless its a religious affiliation.
I guess if you work for a small company and are SURE nobody would be offended then go for it but i still dont think its proper "work etiquitte" |
