Chevez has taken over oil companies in Venzeuela. How will that effect us and/or them?

I remember when I was a kid an uncle worked in the jungle in Venzeuela helping develop oil facilities. My impression was that the U.S. was instrumental in their having oil companies. Anyone know how capable they are in handling their oil business? Will it become another Cuba?

I had seen in the news a while back that the " 7 -11 " stores had canceled or not renewed their contract with "Cit-co " oil company due to the comments Chavez made about President Bush when he was in the US . I really think they knew that down the road this loser was going to attempt to disrupt supply . I personally don't feel Venezuela is far from being a communist dictatorship like Castro's Cuba , the only difference is the people of Venezuela are far more likely to revolt when the sanctions come , and they will come....

Like all social projects this will go to crap after a while. When the folks with the technical know how are gone they will have trouble continuing to produce.

I guarantee this is going to be the latest "reason" for gas prices to go up. The stock market fat cats want more money so the will use this as an excuse to jack the prices, and once again congress will blame the oil companies.

He would be very stupid to bite the hand that feeds his country. We are one of their biggest countries to do business with them. To cut us off will leave them sitting on their oil. I think we should boycott them anyway. He is nothing but a dictator, and a thug anyway. They will end up like Cuba. Cut off.

I know he just won the elections there, but we should declare him a dictator and bomb the people of the country as we did in Iraq.

If it carries on like that, there will be no countries left for Bush and his fellow oil barons to exploit. It may cost a lot of American lives and money, but it will be for a good cause.

Hugo Chavez is ruining the Venezuelan economy and treating it like a personal bank account. His greed knows no bounds. The U.S. is one of his biggest customers and he's on thin ice right now because we're slowly developing and alternative to oil with fuels made from corn and grass. Hugo,don't bite the hand that feeds you.
