not a lot u can do about a coworker that u can not get along with. if she is really unproductive the management will see it and get rid of her or straighten her out. the best thing for u to do is do what u do best and let them see u shine and she will fall on her own sword. i have been in management and no matter how much i liked an employee if they were not productive i would get rid of them. |

Maybe your ideas aren't good ones? Think about it from the other employee's point of view. She feels threatenend and she also feels that you think you could do her job a whole lot better, even if you don't know exactly what she does. Yeah, you've got problems. That's managment for you! |

It's a red flag when the manager thinks she's wonderful and yet she's not progressive enough to change things for the better. That pretty much tubes your clean house efforts. Unless of course you can slow the pace down a bit and allow yourself more time in your new surroundings for the manager to 'also' get to know you. You'd be hoping that he notices that you are smart, level headed, have some good ideas, perceptive about business needs, and in time....not soon, but in time....he may allow you more opportunity to implement your ideas, while he continues to like the other person too. |

How did you conclude that the office you now work in is not productive? Maybe through company income statements or market comparisons? Show her items that eliminate opinion and focuses on fact--that way she can't make a rational objection, so she'll see where you're coming from. |

Being that she is older and set in her ways & Manager likes her means that you are OUT NUMBERED. Now unless you are her Supervisor or Team Leader OVER HER JUST DO YOUR JOB, STAY OUT OF HER WAY, And If all else fells YOU COULD TRY THE DIRECT APPROCH and that would be showing a small amount of kindness and extending your niceness by way of conversation with a GIFT something SMALL something that she would like and once she takes the bate then offer ways to her that can best help the two of you to get along better and work together Without causing any bad vibes, Now you really do not have to do all that UNLESS IT IS NESSARY meaning what she does affects you. But if all else fells Trying calling a meeting with her and the Manager letting the manager KNOW FIRST ONE ON ONE THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THINGS WORK BUT WOULD LIKE SOME ASSISTANCE, I wish you the best.
