Its the fear of the unknown. People get complaciant with were they are instead of accepting a challenge or understanding that most changes are for the positive if you mature in that direction

1. Fear - Change represents the unknown and many people are afraid of the unknown. Example:quiting a job after 10-20 years
2. Habit - they realize that they should change but it is a hard habit to break. Example: smoking or eating habits
3. Comfort Level - they like the merry go round of life - they don't want to get on the roller coaster. Example: starting a new relationship
4. Complacency - they have settle and don't want to admit they have settle so they become complacent. Example: wanting to do something beside watch TV all the time but....
