the walton family still owns 40% of the company. I don't think its going to change hands that quickly and quietly. |

No Walmart bought a stake in a Japanese company a few years ago. Recently, they bought more of that company, and own the controlling stake in said company. So now they can start transitioning that company to the Walmart brand. |

You can find a way to track that information thru their stocks. It can be under the name Walmart but still be listed under another name as owners or a business or partnership. |

No. It's a public company, and most shares are held by US investment companies (although the top shareholder is Barclay's, which is from England). |

Hmmm, I haven't heard this but I wouldn't really be surprised. Sam Walton is probably turning over in his grave on how it is now ran. Little things like taking away lay-a-way, as a single mom that's how I did my Christmas shopping and got my kiddos school supplies. I'm gonna have to dig around & figure this out because I haven't heard it & now I just GOTTA know. |

It doesn't matter - I still hate them and they are still importing crappy products from communist china. |

I've heard the same thing as you...but can't confirm. Funny thing...I swore I'd never enter a wal-mart store, for all the reasons we all know..but went once for something and got hooked. There's a reason the parking lot is always full...there's also, obviously, a reason they can sell so cheap....hmmmm ♥ |
