All the big corporate companies in my state cutback on the holiday parties. I work in my dad's medical office and he also cut back and I work part-time in a major law firm and they drastically cut back.
I would rather have no party and a fair cost of living increase, but that was not mentioned either. And I heard from the full time employees they got a 1/2 of their usual bonus.
If you read the Wall Street Journal, you will see that a lot of CEO's and corporate VIPS are going to be arrested for fraud and theft, too late to save us working class folks but at least some will get punished. Sad thing is when the chiefs start falling the domino effects will hurt even more.
I say consumers should cut back in retaliation and cancel or learn to live with the things that you really do not need.
