Do You Agree With Goodwill Prices?
Everything to them is donated, yet they wanted to charge me five dollars for a shirt just because it had a zipper on it, when I can go to walmart or JC Penny and get one for the same price that's new.

It's like they take advantage of people's goodwill....

So again, do you agree with Goodwill Prices?
Additional Details
They might help out with charities which is admirable, BUT why not help out the average consumer(especially in hard times like this) and price it a little more down to earth?

The shirt was on a rack with others and pants. Tops are 2.50 and bottoms are 3.00. I thought I'd be spending the 2.50 which isn't as bad(though a thrift shop I go to charges 1.25 for pants and shirts), but because it had a zipper, they want double?

Yes, I absolutely do agree with their prices. My kids and I shop there for fun every couple of months, and we get some great bargains.

You don't seem to understand what Goodwill is all about. They don't keep the five dollars you pay for the shirt. They use it -- to fund their programs that help the homeless, the elderly, and the poor in your neighborhood. Goodwill is a charity, and they are in business to raise money that is used for many worthy causes.

If you begrudge them the little money they make from your purchases, then you are welcome to shop only at mall stores -- where I seriously doubt you can find a shirt for only five dollars.

I agree, they are way overpriced. i rarely shop there for that reason.
Its too hard to find a bargain and that's the reason for the store.

The purpose is to raise money for their programs.

JUST ME <3
i agree with you, thier prices have gone up and some things are a little pricey. i mean you go there to find a bargain and come out feeling like you spent to much on hardly any items. I know they have thier "causes" and things they help but come on! Goodwill is supposed to be a thrift store for goodness sake!

No I do not agree with their prices anymore. In my opinion they are charging too much for used clothing, pictures, furniture, etc. It use to be fun and go in there and find a real bargain on something. I now go there a lot less and so do my friends. Also I heard a rumor that stores do not wash clothing before putting them out for resale. So if you do purchase clothing, make sure to wash it before wearing it.

The only way you can get a shirt at JCPenney or Walmart for $5.00 is if it's VERY ugly or XXXXL. Goodwill helps people. We shop there all the time.
