And I have to wonder do any of you have a bad boss that keeps getting promoted instead of 'let go'?? I just think it's WRONG. I refuse to change the kind of person I am just to get promoted....I manage my people the way I want to be treated and not using scare tactics.

It depends on the higher management. If they want their employees to have a good working atmosphere they will surely get rid of such bosses. But if they want to keep their employees under pressure, they will promote such bosses. |

Of course they do. People are often promoted because of who they know. And sometimes just to get them out of the way. It is easier to promote to than risk a law suit. Fairness and equality is an ideal that is hard to maintain. People are people! Of course in all "fairness" just because I think someone is a bad boss doesn't mean higher management doesn't see qualities I missed.
You should continue being the kind of person you want to be. It might not get the promotion. But in my view being satisfied with who I am is more worthwhile. |

Yes, bad bosses usually get promoted adn really fast because they make good subordinate to their bosses. Life sucks but that;s how it goes...cheers |
