It`s quite interesting really, i did one today at an interview, after maths and literacy. It went on for ages and as i was doing it i thought what a load of cobblers this is. Afterwards i had the interview and he showed me a printout and we kind of analysed the result together. It really was an accurate description of my personality and i wouldn`t have thought they could get that from the questions asked. So i do think they are quite cleverly designed.
Oh no!
Not a lot but most of them have a lie scale in them to catch out people who are deliberately trying to appear good. If you score high on that you'll look like a psycho. The trick is to look for questions like "I never regret what I've done" or "I always smile at strangers" which truthfully applies to nobody but someone trying to look good will say is true and hence score high on a lie scale.
