I just bought a dressy jacket from Wal-Mart. At most places, why you buy a jacket, they put it on a hanger and |
| then put a plastic cover over it. At Wal-Mart, the clerk took the jacket, rolled it up into a ball, and shoved into a plastic bag. My question is this: Is it worth the money you save, whey you get ... |

Larry B | Do super market bosses think we are stupid? |
I've just been to asda and it's full of roll-back prices, and asda are telling us how good they are for lowering these prices, am I wrong in thinking that they put the prices up much more than was needed a month or two ago just so they could lower them now and get credit for being kind to consumers. |

I like when they roll back stuff they have never sold before, or roll back from a price i have never seen them charge.
I also love how they can BOGOF stuff that is clearly double the price you would normally pay! |

The supermarket business is a very competitive one. Keeping prices as low as possible is about the only way to play. Keeping prices high for a month and losing a lot of business just to cash in the next month with low prices will drive a company under eventually.
What you should look at is exactly how good these sales are. There are lots of examples of items being put on sale but ending up at a higher price than what they were eventually. Such as putting items as 2 for $1 when they were priced at $.45 originally.
Here is an example of this.

Just because it is on sale does not mean it is a good deal. Another thing to remember over head and margins are going to be different from store to store. Look around and you can find a wide variance on pricing. |

They all do it but the one I like the best is, (I have just come back from Tesco) they have juice on offer (orange, apple, apple and mango etc) the offer is 3 for £4 I think its like £1.38 each, (wow save a whole 14p) but when you look closely, the apple and mango is 97p! work that one out. |

no of course , you aren't stupid , you are clever... |
|

Katkat - Smiling at someone :)
|
No of course not!! They're all as bad as each other. The "roll backs" are about 2 p cheaper!!
And tescos are the worst, in my opinion, with their "we're the cheapest according to our own price comparison" LOL Yeah cos that's impartial isn't it?!
Asda is still cheapest, but Morrison's is catching up damn quick. |

ye they do you have to really check n read the offers, if you think you are buyin a pack of cheaper than a single one you are wrong |

yeah I pay attention to the 2 for 1 specials etc, as you only find those at bigger branches, but the before and after things never fooled me at all. What do I care what the price was a little while ago? even if it was that price for more than 2 seconds |

They raise prices due to inflation.
everyone does.
tesco
morrisons
asda
sainsburys.
then they lower them a bit.
cost of living will always rise |
