Hey, I have an interview at Sainsbury's and I really need and want the job so I want to make a good impression.
Do you know what they might ask me and what the best answers will be? I know ...
This is a company that I had never heard of and is reported as an idenity theft organization. I have also learned there may be a connection to my shopping at home Depot and Senergy Design Solutions ...
I worked for Tesco's for a while. If we worked overtime, they insisted on giving us "time off in lieu" instead of actuallypaying us overtime. The fact that we were working overtime ...
I returned a item yesterday at walmart and I was just wondering why do they scan the receipt? Is it to tell if you have returned the item before or the price?...
think/feel that in the Corporate world people behave more like they did in JR. high or SR. high? Because where I work it can get very CYOA (Cover your own A**)
Funny, I was wearing a suit and running around in the corparate world right out of High School. I got lucky and landed a very good career making excellent money.
The problem is that its always cover your own ***, no matter where you go. Every job has its own drama, gossipers and all kinds of S**t if you know what I mean. Grey area, thin lines...all that.

Welcome to the world of work where CYOA is a reality. Get used to it. Seriously, you are so right, many times it is only their academic qualifications that have moved up (grown) not their mentality.

I really think it depends on the management team.
I can't deny that this type of thing happens in the corporate world.
But I can promise you that it's not acceptable where I work...Where I work, the management absolutely does not accept that type of thing, and honestly, you're more likely to get fired for not escalating an issue than you are for screwing something up. They truly would prefer to hear the ugly truth, than a beautiful lie.

I don't think this is true. Granted their is a lot of CYA going on, but the level of gossip has decreased. It depends where you work though. If you are in a professional firm like accounting it's going to be way different than if you work in a call center that does telemarketing. And if you're a doctor all it is is a brag fest.

It's like that pretty much everywhere. I used to work in the corporate world and found it there. I now work in a factory and it is just as much in this environment as it ever was in the business world. It's human nature to play the blame game and to have to protect yourself and to listen to people toot their own horn.

Jr. or Sr. High? Wow, you must work in a professional organization. Some days it's like kindergarten! :)
Seriously - the CYA level depends on the company culture and how the boss(es) operates. The rank and file folks tend to mimic what goes on at the top.
a
yes very much so.
Mike
If you were in a third world country, CYOA and/or politics would not have been considered as such!?!
