Yes, you are using their equipment and they are paying you to be there. I think it's economically, legally, morally and ethically fair for them to track my Internet usage. |

Well, lets see..... you are using their equipment, and unless it's your lunch hour, using their time that they are paying you for. Seems pretty fair that they can track what you are doing on the Internet.
As to your second question, I suppose it would depend on what organization you are talking about. |

If you have ever taken a good management class, you should understand that every moment not working is costing your company money. Say you make about $15 per hour, every minute you are getting paid $0.25. So, it should be fair to ask what are you doing on the web? If it is non-productive, you probably shouldn't be doing it. However if your job is to research on the web, maybe then it shouldn't matter. Hey what do I know I'm at work now. Thanks!! |

Totally. If your net usage is company related and above board, then you have nothing to worry about. Socialising online etc, belongs in after hours time, not work time. |
