I live in the sticks..a rural town on the S. Oregon Coast. I am amazed at how unprofessional the businesses are at times. I am a former city girl, and was always taught that customer service, etc. should be taken seriously.
Just wondered what it's like in your neck of the woods? Is this just a rural thing, or universal.
I called about a part today for a piece of new furniture that broke. The Customer Service guy told me he never called me back because he was lazy. What the heck?

Good points..just thinkin' when you shell out over a grand for new furniture, and it breaks after a couple of months (recliner)..they would not admit to just "laziness"..ya know? |

Jili baby its everywhere.....the world s full of idiots, and most of them work in retail.
I own a Restaurant/Bar and Construction Company, in a rural community. I have gone through allot of employees trying to find people that, don't piss me off with their lazy Fing attitudes.
Edit:
In your situation, I might load the furniture up. Haul it dow to the parking lot of the store. Set up a chair, and umbrella with a sign that read, "Before you by anythng from here, talk
to me!"
I'll bet that, motivates them to resolve this issue....fast! |

I shop at Fred Meyers and I was surprised when I noticed how big the shoes were on the employees. When they came to work they all came out of one car. I tried to smell the flower in their lapel and I got squirted in the face. What a bunch of clowns. The major stores such as Fred Meyers and Target are quick to respond to any problems that customers may have. My sister-in-law stopped at a Dairy Queen on the way to the coast and after changing her order several times the teenage girl taking the order told her to "go '***** herself." Katie followed up on it with the owner and the girl was fired on the spot. The employee who said he was too lazy should have been dismissed on the spot as well. |

i live in a rural area too...it's the same here. years ago, the customer used to come first. i usually say something like..."what's a matter, dont' you like your job?" or "if it wasn't for us customers, you wouldn't have a job" it does no good, but it feels good to vent. |

The bigger the city, the better the service because people are fighting for jobs.
Jimbos and bubbas that live in and work the sticks are only working in customer service for beer money. There is no job competition, so they slack off and do the minimum, if that.
Was the furniture a 'Lazyboy'?

I've been on both sides of this coin. I live in a somewhat large city, and it's 50/50. It's all attitude. And sometimes it's almost impossible to keep a good one with the way a lot of people act. So, I try to find the humor in those kind of situations and let it go, after I've verbally assaulted the inadequate *ick. |
