Absolutely not. They are the essense of a free market. If you do not like their prices or products - you do not have to shop there. If you do not like their wages or working conditions - you do not have to work there. People chose to do these things because thet are the best possible option for them, and thus, should not complain. Wal-Mart does a great job of being efficient and providing products at the lowest prices and are the number one employer in the world. As long as Wal-Mart operates legally and ethically, I have no problem with them. |

Okay, lets look at the "big picture"... and normally, I hate that expression. Lets say that since their stores are filled with junk. Which in some cases they are. Yes, its inexpensive, no the quality isn't the best, and yes their prices are sometimes better.
However, Lets take a look at the average American worker. they go to work every day. take care of their families, and shop at walmart because they can save a lot of money. Over time, they suddenly find that their job has been eliminated, or sent to Bangladesh, or India, or china or Japan or Mexico because labor costs are so much less and because thats where walmart buys their crap.
The American worker is out of a job.
Another scenario, other stores are forced to close because walmart demands (and gets) the lowest possible cost. Smaller stores can't compete with this and they are forced to close. No, the smaller stores weren't the most expensive, but they gave service on a level that walmart will never see.
Walmart will discriminate against its employees in a variety of ways.
walmart has one good thing going for it. They have the absolute best distribution system in the world. Other than that... they suck.
If I had one wish in life, I would eliminate all stores ending in the word, "mart". |

I don't hate Wal-mart because they're open 24-7 and have the best prices on most things. I used to work there and its nothing like they say on the news; there were no labor or insurance issues. They also offer a lot of good benefits.They need to learn how to stay in stock though.
And a second thought- why do people protest Wal-mart coming to their town? All they have to do is not shop there. |

Absolutely not. They saves tons for consumers by driving supplier cost down. They outsource which is a good thing because it helps the US realize what it is good at making. |
