I do only because in the area I live you have no choice because the big business has closed down mom and pop places. I dislike the rude customer service. Any tips on how to avoid this place with out over paying on products??
(I only buy things at I cant get else where. an example would be the vacuum cleaner I got today)

It is obvious to me that Wal-Mart does not mind placing the lives of its customers at risk. It is equally obvious to me that, because Wal-Mart generates such high sales tax revenues, many cities are looking the other way, instead of enforcing the law.
Anyone who has ever shopped at Wal-Mart in the late-evening has seen how they clog the aisles with boxes of merchandise to be re-stocked. The stores are massive and with most of the aisles blocked, they build a maze every night--a maze it would be impossible to escape in the event of a fire or earthquake or other natural disaster. Fire regulations prohibit this. Imagine being in your local Wal-Mart when the store starts filling with toxic smoke and the lights go out. If the stampede doesn't kill you, it's a good bet you won't find your way out anyway.
I think this is a pointed example of how big-business and goverment conspire against the interests of the public. If you or I owned a store, would we be allowed to do as Wal-Mart does? |

I avoid Walmart as much as possible. It is for a lot of reasons. They blackmail companies to lower their prices and go to China. They have mistreat the employees over the last 10 years. They do go into areas and purposely take out competition. They actually are not necessarily the lowest price compared to other stores. |

I avoid Wal-Mart at all costs! I have only been there maybe 3 times in the past 2 years (once was for an ice cream flavor that no one else in town carried and when I got there I found they had dropped it too!!) I live in a small town (55k pop.) so there are not a lot of choices here, either...
Something like a vacuum I would get from Amazon. In fact, other than clothing, I pretty much check Amazon first every time--they carry such a wide variety of products.
I do a great deal of my shopping online, other favorites are Overstock.com and Smartbargains. Oops, don't forget eBay! |

i agree walmart has crappy customer service..and i actually find their prices to suck the big one..but like everyone else..i shop there too..its local..haha
but theres target..kohls..sears..jcpenney..all these places have decent deals if you go when they have their sales and do the saturday/sunday morning deal things
and im sure your state/region has to have some sort of chain stores
like in wisconsin we have farm and fleet..shopko..fleet farm.. |

Wal-mart is great. Yeah they put small stores out of business but they sell things cheap. Why would i over pay when i can get it cheaper. I go wherever i can save money, weather or not i have good CS is a factor, but i will not spend more money for it. At my Wal-mart the peopel are nice, yeah some cannot talk english or do anything right, but its usualy the norm wherever you go now. |
