I don't support Wal-mart because they are becoming a monopoly and buying out all the mom and pop stores. Plus they give terrible health/dental care out to their employees just so the customers can always have low prices. I don't shop there and I suggest you do the same. |

I think Walmart is improving, but I think they put a lot of mom & pop businesses out of business. |

Sure...Free market economics. But I don't go there as much as I used to. They are making a habit of getting local governments to use eminant domain to take private property away from individuals. |

No. Never been to a wal-mart either. A few years ago, they tried to build one here in the city, but we voted against it! :-) |

thats the way the world works
in australia we sell our best quality meat to over seas and we get the lower grade we have clean seas here but we import fish that is caught in polluted areas.
that my frend is how it works and you can protest by not shoping at somewere that fills its store with chinas produce
but ithink you will run out of places to shop.

Hey, I have three kids. I absolutely shop at Wal-mart. When I can get the household essentials for much cheaper than anywhere else, I'd be silly not to. |

Several years ago I worked at a Wal-Mart. They cheated me on my hours, having me work while "off the clock". But I still spend a lot money at Wal-Mart and (usually) enjoy going there. K-Mart was supposed to wreck retail businesses in their day, but Wal-Mart wrecked them. K-Mart wrecked Woolworth, the previous big discount chain, which in its day was also supposed to ruin retail businesses across the country. Something will happen to bump Wal-Mart eventually. Sears and Penney's were supposed to take over retail at various times, it sort of, but still did not, happen.
We love to exaggerate things in this country. Our hatred of Wal-Mart is one of those things. Frankly, they are good people who provide a good place to work. If I was down and out and needed a simple job and there was an opening at McDonalds and another at Wal-Mart, I would be in line applying at Wal-Mart without a moment's hesitation. |

Yes, absolutely. From economic development and profit growth stand point of view, they add more value to the society than others. The consumers are better off as the competition force the price down. A couple of thing for you to consider.
1.) Affortable housing: imagine if Walmart is getting involved, there will be no real estate bubble in US. They will cut the price more than half as they have the leverages.
2.) The most efficient and lowest cost bank: It will be a extra gravy for this one as they reach the econmy of scale to compete any banks in the world to offer good service at a fractional cost.
3.) Car dealer: No hassle to purchase car as it can offer one stop shopping at the lowest cost, sales personnel will be cashier and no show rooms necessary to cut the waste to zero.
4.) Health care: it may have the chace to buy humana in the near future, then take over united health care etc, to create much efficient provider for all US residents. |

No. There are dozens of reasons I could list, but let me tell you just ONE of many Walmart horror stories. Do you know that an AMERICAN company, named Five Rivers, sued the Chinese for illegally dumping TV sets into the U.S.? Do you also know that WALMART joined the Chinese in COUNTERSUING the American company? In other words, Walmart was defending the Chinese? Do you also know that Walmart and the Chinese LOST the suit? In other words, Walmart was implicated in illegal dumping of TV sets? Just one of many of Walmart's dirty little secrets. |

I have a love/hate relationship with Walmart. I love that they have low prices, so I can make my husband's hard earned money go farther. Since we started grocery shopping at Walmart, we've cut our grocery bill in half. Huge blessing when you're a family of 5 on one income. But, I think a lot of their other stuff is also cheaply made and won't buy big ticket items there.
I love that they have lots of kids clothes for cheap, as my kids are all little (6, 2 and 9 months) and I refuse to pay a lot of money for a brand name or for something that is only going to be worn for a few months before it gets to be too small.
I do not love the people they hire to work in their store, at least at the one I go to regularly. A lot of them look like they are parolees and give me the creeps. Their produce selection sucks, too. And a lot of the cashiers are clueless about common produce items. I have had cashiers who have to ask what a zucchini or an acorn squash is. |

i don't support my local walmart. i mean yeah i go there because its the only place that i can go and shop anywhere near by. but the way they go at hiring people no. they don't have enough people working there and they love people who can work weekends and nights...but nooo not me. they told me "if we like your application" well screw you. and i couldn't even put i have relitives working there because they wern't on the "List" they had pre-selected |

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that this new movie Over the Hedge about these animals who's home is ruined by developments is being sponsored by walmart!! Walmart takes away so much and land space once used as a wildlife home and now is even sponsering a movie to show how developing areas are harming the wildlife....something IRONIC |

I do not support Walmart and they continually try to build in my area but are always shot down. There are hidden fees included in the low prices. |
