With apologies to the hard-working folks at Home Depot, one cannot help but wonder if they have an active policy of hiring idiots, with special perks for the lazy and insolent. I've been to three different shops and I have yet to meet one employee who was not stupid and useless.
Every time I see that sign on the door that says "We are a drug-free workplace" I think, Damn! At least if they were doped up they'd have an excuse.
I think any well-funded, high volume home center that can match Home Depot's prices will blow by them eventually. It's about customer service. |

I don't think so, but Lowe's could catch up to Home Depot in market capitalization. I do prefer to shop at Lowes because the stores just seem cleaner and better organized. |

No, I like Home Depot better. Besides that I see more people at Home Depot than Lowes when I go to these stores. |

psh heck no they're not that aggressive towards each other (store location wise) does that make sense? |

Maybe. They have a more pleasant atmosphere, like Menard's. Too much testosterone, poor lighting, and the help is always hiding in home depot, and when they are not, they don't have a clue. |

Ummm, NO.
Home Depot is way better than Lowes, that's why.
The question I'd like to turn back to you is - Do you think Whole Foods is going to knock Trader Joe's out of business???
I think sooooo. |

no i don't think so because home depot has a lot of stores and a lot of customers and is widely popular in the usa but lowes is new so it would take sometime 'til it may take over home depot and they don't have a lot of stores so they are kinda on the process , they still need work , but Home depot is the best out there |

No, but with less than half the stores in place that HD has, Lowe's has greater earnings growth potential. |

No, Lowes caters to the home owner and HD caters to the builders. They each have their niche and will both probably continue to thrive.
Not sure if this is true, but I've heard the ex-wife of the man who started Home Depot is the one who started Lowes lol |

Not so sure. Our town had a Lowe's first. Home Depot just opened with a much larger store and better location. Lowe's parking lot is not nearly as packed as Home Depot's is. I may consider going back to Lowe's simply because of the small crowd. |

No. Lowe's has been losing customers to HD for awhile now (at least here in teh St. Louis area). Mostly because of the sneaky things they do. The news have been running some stories on them in our area. |
