Yes, i do.
I do not have children yet, but I have seen that people in charge I know at work dont take on mothers with kids if they are single parents as if the kid is sick, the mom stays off work. I was asked at interview if i planned kids as i am 30 with none. If i had said yes, no job offer as they do not want to pay materninty for a year. People can be so horrible, I sometimes despair. |

Yes I do. I worked at a job where i had a male boss and when my son would get sick or something he would have an attitude. Well about 3 yrs later his wife had their first child and then he knew what it was like. Everytime he would get sick or something he would stay home with his child and he never gave me attitude after that. |

It all depends on the person.
I have had sympathetic bosses that did not have children and unsympathetic bosses that had children. |

I am a boss that doesn't have children. I think you are overestimating their care factor generally. I have better things to think about than other peoples kids, however I will always take reasonable steps to accommodate the personal needs of my staff whether it be kids, (other) dependants, funerals, study or whatever. |

No, they are probably just ignorant. Not in a bad way, but since they don't have children they wouldn't be able to fully understand the employee's point of view. Just like the employee can't fully see the boss's point of view when he/she gets transferred, downsized or laid off. |
