its hypercritical, they bounce your cheque because of insufficiant funds but still take money from your account that you havnt got because you went overdrawn |

Yes. If you borrow someone's money then you play by their rules.
In short, if you don't want to pay interest, don't overdraw your account. If you find that you are doing it a lot, consider getting a line of credit. |

No.
Urgent government action is required. This will not happen because of Gordon Brown being too friendly with the financial community.
Very often people go into overdraft because of mistakes, postal strikes, moving house or just not being aware (we are not all clever clogs!).
The charges made by the banking cartel are obscene and probably illegal under the money lending acts, but that does not stop them.
Only action by the government can stop it. |

I don't mind the overdraft fee, once. What really burns me is when they bounce your check twice in the same day knowing that the funds are not available. Another thing. When you deposit money, then write a check and they bounce the check before they deposit the funds. But, what can you do? |

No I do not think so, sometimes it is an honest mistake, do you? |

When you sign up for a bank account you are made aware of the penalties for going overdrawn. If you think it's excessive you should try elsewhere. I know the charges are high, but if it's your won fault that you're overdrawn your agreement with the bank says you should pay them. |

no. it simply another way of punishing those with less money. odds are no rich folks ever go overdrawn, if they do they have the attorneys to do a song and dance and twist the law so their clients get out of it.where as the normal average person struggling in this country are mcf**ked if they get over drawn. i can see 1 overdrawn charge but to try 3 and 4 times to put through the same check? c'mon!! it is an excuse to make money pure and simple. |
