Do you think wal-mart is getting out of control (monopoloy)?

Yes. The average Wal Mart worker makes $18,000 annually and doesn't have access to health insurance or 401k retirement investments with the meager earnings they make.
Wal Mart drives out small businesses from towns and cities since Wal Mart can negotiate cheaper prices with major suppliers of products such as Coke, Pepsi, Frito Lay, etc.
Many towns and cities around America are now protesting and trying to run Wal Mart out of their communities.

Yes but i shop there and i love it.

out of control? No. Wally World has successfuly shot themselves in the christmas foot by eliminating the layaway program starting next year. This will hurt them in the long run. they haven't gone out of control they have lost touch with everything that got them there.

Wal*Mart is a fad, in my opinion.

They have filled a big void by providing a low-cost solution to everyday purchases for most people. Unfortunately for them, their strategy is based on bullying their suppliers to constantly reduce prices.

There's no way the Walton family would be worth $80 billion if they didn't make lots of money, so their price cuts are not from their own pockets.

They are now approaching the nil-sum-gain position. As they try to get more price breaks, they are having to switch from known brands and products to their own brands and questionable products from China, India, Malaysia, wherever, just so they can continue their price break promise.

Target was legally dead five years ago. Why are they back? Because Americans will actually pay more to get a decent product. Cheap garbage is still garbage. Unless Wal*Mart starts to recognize that, they will see continuing poor same-sales performance. The dinosaur is headed for extinction.

They had a good run, so don't worry about them.

Consumers make Wal-Mart. No one makes people shop there.
