Amazon.co.uk may be a better bet for delivering UK products.

However, there are, of course, situations where you want a US product. I've used Amazon.com for many years for books that aren't available in the UK.

I've never used Amazon.com for electronic equipment, but have used TigerDirect.

You should be aware, when ordering electronic equipment from the US, you are likely to be assessed for:

- Import duty (on BOTH the purchase price and the shipping)
- VAT (on everything, including even VAT on the import duty!)
- A "handling charge" your courier will apply for their dealing with the paperwork at UK customs.

It is likely that you will therefore get an invoice for the duty / VAT / handling charge, from your courier once your goods are in the UK, and until that invoice your goods will be held in a bonded customs warehouse.

In my experience, therefore, buying electronics from the US tends to work out no cheaper... when I've done it is when I've wanted stuff that wasn't (yet) available in the UK.

You ought, additionally, to be aware that US electronics may be different versions that are NOT CE approved. Hence it would be illegal to re-sell them in the UK - if you're importing for personal use this isn't an issue.
