Does CEO make a lot of money ?

Actually, CEO is just a title. It really depends on what company you're the head of, and how well that company is doing. If you are the CEO of, say, the "Ride Invisible Magical Ponies for Free" company and your company is making next to nothing, you may as well be a bum on the street. Of course, if you're the CEO of Microsoft you can afford to use money as toilet paper.

So, to reiterate: CEO = title. It does not show how much money you make. But yeah, CEOs usually make oodles of money...

JSAL21
No they dont make alot of money... THEY MAKE AN OBSURB AMOUNT COMPARED TO WHAT THEY DO.. not to mention their pension funds are putting companies in debt because they demand so much money..

Timothy J
thats is waaay too generalized

some CEO go through their savings to keep their company from going belly up, others make scrillions

The average CEO makes more in one day then the average working american makes all year.

Great question. I don't know what the "average" yearly income for a CEO would be, and I'm sure it would depend on the industry, but check this out: One day I get an email (by ACCIDENT) from the executive assistant to the CEO of my company. It was an excel spreadsheet of various salaries, bonuses, stocks, etc, for the CEO, President, Chairman and the Senior EVP. The CEO's salary was a little over 2 million, his yearly bonus for 2007 was around $800K, PLUS $100K per year to reimburse him for "club fees", and a car allowance of $75K per year. Need I say more? HOWEVER, I also know CEOs who make around $200K per year (usually very small, and/or new companies). But for the most part, they make damn good money.
