Does UPS allow you to pick up a package at the local UPS facility if you don't want it delivered?
I don't want them to make a delivery attempt because I won't be home, so can I arrange to pick it up? Additional Details EDIT: In response to ebethw85 - Sometimes I receive a package (a valuable one at that) from UPS that just gets left at my doorstep...No sig needed. So, i suppose that may be the case with this package.
I am familiar with Fed Ex and I am assuming UPS has equivalent rules. They have a form you can sign that tells them it is OK to do that. After it is on file they will always know your preference. It works for anything except jewelry or other high-value declared items like that for which the sender insists on special treatment.
If Fed Ex does it then UPS has an equivalent, just to stay competitive.

The shipper can designate the package as "signature required." This way, if you aren't home, they will not leave the package at your door and you will have to pick it up at the center.

Yes, you can pick it up at your local UPS facility. You need to call them and tell them that you want to pick it up as opposed to having it delivered.

I'm not sure if UPS offers hold at location service you could
call them and ask,
but I know (since I work for Fedex Kinko's) we do offer
what we call HAL (hold at location) you can have the package
held (it has be sent via Fedex express NOT Fedex ground)
on the airbill check off Hold at location and list the address
of the fedex station/fedex Kinko's you want the package to be held
at , and another benefit that there a lot of Fedex Kinko's open 24 hours a day so it you don't have to worry about rushing to the Fedex station before they close for the evening /

well, even if they deliver it and you're not home, they will hold it for you to pick up. so you don't have to call, but you can try calling them to ask them. there's no harm.

Just wait for a delivery attempt. Then just take the delivery notice to the UPS store to pick it up.

Depends on the UPS facility, I would have to suppose. Drop them a call ahead of time to make sure it's okay. Also, be aware they may already be en route with the package, so make sure they know before hand.
