Does america have bad financial management?
Closure of Lehman, downfall of Merryl lynch and bailing out of AIG with whopping 85 billion by the government. Is america unable to manage the finance? Are our management theories wrong?

Pretty much.

Corporations are just larger versions of the public, who it has been proven many times, is living WAY beyond it's means.

Yes, without regulations then who is minding the store? The government has let Americans down.

The problems with AIG, Lehman's, Countrywide, etc. are because of bad BUSINESS practices, not bad government practices. Companies made poorly-secured loans to unqualified people at low "teaser" rates, based on the assumption that home prices would rise -- which they did, till they fell. Companies often bundled these poor loans and sold them to other companies. Now, when the teaser rates are up and the loan is at normal rates, the market is down. A lot of people can't pay the mortgages they should never have gotten to begin with, and are being foreclosed on.

I completely disagree, if our financial managements were really bad. we would't have the biggest, richest and "strongest" companies on the plant in the FIRST PLACE. but there are inside jobs that cause problems like bears sterns. Besides most of the world follows our ways.Thats why there stock market is also dipping. These are just hard times once every 15 to 20 years. Housing market is what killed us. The government got greedy but now learned a lesson.

this is still a cakewalk compared to the turmoil faced by other countries

If your a socialist, no. Since when does the government have the power to define when a private business can be overhauled with taxpayer money to be absorbed (for the most part) by the federal government. Call me a Jeffersonian, but this is wayyy to much of government power surge for me to swallow in one pill. Its the citizens money, and the big heads of Washington should not be using it for ANY private bailouts, large or small. This sets a precedent for government interference in business for decades to come. Its like the New Deal with FDR setting a downward spiraling economic program for the country. This bailout creates a new government expense that, if not checked, will consume the government as the social programs of the 30's have.
