I am beginning to wonder if UPS’s customer service policies aren’t purposely formed philosophies bent on sending companies like mine elsewhere. At least that would explain the offensive approach to customer service exhibited by UPS. And I am not saying that the individual customer service people have been offensive, though there has been mild rudeness on occasion they appear locked into enforcing unfairness. We attempted to get service reps out to our facilities for years with no success. Finally after literally years and countless attempts we succeeded in having a rep stop out to assist us in insuring that our packaging process was inclusive of the standards with which UPS adheres. In theory this would allow them to perform their duties as advertised or at least bring clarity to their limitations. This process was actually repeated at another point giving our shipping department high confidence in the process they are using. The words spoken by UPS’s representative were completely irrelevant when dealing with breakage claims. At NO point since these meetings have they stood behind even one solitary destroyed package. In not even one of many extreme cases in which a large footprint was left on the side of a package by their employees did they stand behind their words. Now it seems that a specifically urgent overnight delivery arrived 4 days late. To compound this their customer service has denied our credit request (this credit was requested only for the shipping charges as we have found it a practice in futility to request credit for destroyed goods…and yes, our package arrived completely destroyed and late) citing 16 days that have passed between the inept service and the request for credit. Using UPS to ship our product has become a running joke within our entire management staff, not to mention the customers who receive these packages. The extreme things that have been said about UPS by my staff and the personnel of our customers are beyond the pale of conversation that I can pass along to you, suffice it to say that UPS has made a real emotional connection with many people. The processes they have put in place as managers is a failure within my sphere of business, and yet they cling to these faulty ideals as if bound by religious faith, all levels of customer service afraid to do the right thing, no matter how obvious that may be. UPS is ripe for attack by a leaner, hungrier company dedicated to the principles that must have been present in their company in some distant history. |

I'm an Avon lady so I see my UPS guy every two weeks. Poor thing is dumb as a bag of hammers. Finally figured out I live in a slum and started putting my boxes under our stairwell so they're mainly out of sight when I'm gone, so I'm loving him. But yes, they're very slow. I've had them lose several of my shipments (that I depend on to keep my business rolling!!) |

At my last job we used UPS and I prepared and sent out packages all the time. We sent most things next day air and it seemed like I was constantly on the phone with them because a "next day air" package still hadn't been delivered after a week. We had a corporate account with them and they never even bothered to call us or the receiver any time they had a problem with a package address or delivery. Umm, isn't that why the contact info is on the outside of the package, incase there is a delivery problem?? Although, the one good thing that I did find was that their customer service center wasn't outsourced to India, so at least I could understand the reps when I called. |

the only complaint i have and im not sure if its there fault or not is that when i have ordered things before they never make me sign for it if im not home they just leave it for anyone to come and pick up and thats what happened one time i ordered a vaccume and someone took it off my porch and it took me forever to get it straightened up the co was going to make me pay for it because i couldnt prove i never got it ect i think they should never leave you package when your not home |
