I eat at my local Burger King quite often, and have become alarmed at the sight of their employees with numerous piercings in their eyes, nose and lips. I believe everyone has the right to have these if they so choose, however I think it is not only very unsanitary and shows a lack of professionalism not only on Burger Kings part, but on the part of their employees as well. |

Get over it. Those crap burger chains already try to suck the individuality out their employees. The piercings are probably just a way for the young people to express some of thier personality in an job filled with meaningless rules.
People down on the emo/punk types today makes me think of all the hoo-ha about Elvis and the rockabilly types in the 50s. It seems that older generations will generally find something unappealing or dangerous about whatever it is the young ones are in to. |

General H&S within food/catering states that you should not wear any jewellery with the exception of a wedding band everything else should be covered with plasters if they can't be removed - they ever get a visit from the environmental health they will be in serious trouble not to mention the HSE or FSA |

Deleted Answer: Stop eating at Burger King. They are starting to put all of the signs in the store in spanish, which is BS because I live in TEXAS. NORTH TEXAS!!!!!!!! I want to walk into a restaurant and read the menu in MY OWN NATIONAL (albeit unofficial) language. There was a time when you come to AMERICA and learn to speak AMERICAN ENGLISH. Now we have businesses having all of the signs in SPANISH????? What gives??? Okay now really, they tried that for about 2 years and then they all went out of business. Serves them right. I know I will be "Unpopular" but you know what...I have enough friends. If you dont want to speak ENGLISH, GET THE heck out of MY COUNTRY. Yeah, I dont like the face piercing either. they look like morons, but then again, how much intelligence does it take to throw a frozen burger patty on a conveyer belt through a broiler????? You know what, i agree with you 100% completely. I think that it is unsaitary and unprofessional, it makes me not want to go in there. When i worked fast food, the only peircings that were allowed were, stud earings, and those really tiny tiny tiny nose peircings that look like a freckals on their face. I dont think that overly peirced people should even be allowed to work at any work place. |

YOU need to get over it. Just because someone has a piercing OR a tattoo doesn't mean they are unprofessional!!! I have a tongue piercing and will not remove it for any job, as for facial ones they are supposed to be covered with a bandaid. Tattoos if visible on arms are supposed to be covered by long sleeves, BUT this is 2011, and most people are not stuck in the 50-80s, I am a professional and have been in customer service for over 22 yrs, times are changing and you can no longer discriminate against these types of expression. I for one enjoy the diversity that every individual brings to a work place. So get over yourselves and try to find something more worth your time to complain about. |
