How is wal mart a cult?
I've worked for Wal Mart for about a year and a few months now, started out as a part time dairy associate, now I'm the department head of dairy.
They started me out at 8.75 because I had previous retail experience and gave me good raises when I had my reviews. I make good money now.
All these people that say Wal Mart sucks must have had bad experiences with them as every store will have people who hate it. Its the nature of retail; some like it, sone dont. In my experience if you do your work, they will reward you. They ask me when and if they want me to have overtime, and pay me in full when I do so. I'm free to say no with no fear of retailiation. You can say no and they wont fire you, they will find someone else to work.
As for you, it would depend on if you have experience, how well you win them over in your interviews and after 90 days, you will be reviewed on how well you do your job.
Its not a cult, I actually enjoy working there, and if its not for you, then theres other jobs out there. |

Minimum wage in your parts BUT they do have incentatives like medical coverage. So that's a plus. They also have scholarship opportunitites if you are still a student. |

It depends on what department you work in. Since they all vary. You can also call and ask, but I am pretty sure that they would tell you min. wage. Experience really doesn't matter to them. So that won't help you at all.
Though stay away. They are ying yang with overtime and treat the employee's like crap. Also my sister claims that they are a cult. |

I like in Woodstock, IL and the one by me supposedly pays starting at $8.00 an hour. You could always call your local walmart and ask if they are hiring. Also, you could ask in person a friendly cashier or associate. |

Haven't you heard how they abuse their employees? Making them work overtime without paying overtime and threatening to fire them if they don't comply. Not allowing workers to unionize. Don't work for Walmart! They are evilllllllll!!! |
