myrmidon | Does anyone work in a "corporate culture" that he finds really reprehensible? |
I did, got burned out and disgusted after putting a lot of years in. Dozens of fearful middle managers focused on fault-finding, lame team-building stuff, product misrepresentation, etc. I don't know what my question is---maybe what the heck are they teaching in business school these days? Whatever happened to business ethics? Any input is appreciated as I'm feeling very demoralized. |

Ive started my own business on the side and hopefully, i'll be out of that concentration camp within a year.
Good luck to you. |

Corporate Culture and Corporate Ethics have nothing to do with culture or ethics. Both say that if it is good for the company then it is acceptable. Pass the buck, blame the other guy, screw the customer and get rid of employees that might cost the company above the norm are all games that are played. This is all done in the name of profit, even if lying and underhanded dealing are required, it is OK. The real question is, WHO DOES NOT find this reprehensible? Unfortunately, corporate culture is the cornerstone of the party presently in power here in the US. |

Burned out is so easy these days with the long hours and not home enough to spend time with family. That's why so many people are finding it difficult to enjoy their job anymore. No one is appreciated anymore! So?? I fired my boss!
If you're open to the idea of bringing in additional streams of income working from the comfort of your own home, visit http://www.bedavis1.mywayout.net and watch the simple proven formula presentation that not only tells about the business but how it works too. While doing research, do check with the BBB (better business bureau) on any company you're looking at for legitimacy, ill complaints and ratings of the company. Robert Kiyosaki's book (from the Rich Dad Poor Dad) "The Business School" says this is the way to go!
Good luck on your endeavor! |

A lot of people feel as you do, so don't be demoralized by feeling you're alone. As you've put a lot of years in Company X, just try to think of what kind of business you might start with the skills you've acquired there. That will also hopefully help you not feel as bitter that it was a waste of time the years you were there. The best person to work for is yourself!! Good luck!! |
