I recieved a mailing from them about a loto drawing I might have won
I too received a check. Knowing that it was to good to be true I contacted the "Bank of the West" in Calistoga, CA. They informed me that this is a major scam, asked me to fax a copy of the check to them (Nancy) and to contact the local police.
I then called the contact in Canada again and informed them that I had been told it was a scam. He of course pretended to know nothing about any scam and was going to contact his manager and have him talk to me - I asked if he needed my phone number and he said no and hung up. I'm quite sure I will not hear anything more from Canada today.
