Wal-Mart's prices are hard to beat. However the quality of the products they offer corresponds directly with the low costs. There are many items in Wal-Mart that are exclusive to Wal-Mart, these items are usually cheap and inferior in quality. Check out their tire selection for example you'll find models of tires, from well known brands that are only sold at Wal-Mart and Sam's club. To me that just screams that the tires are cheap and so poorly made that Goodyear won't sell them in their own stores. With Wal-Mart you get what you pay for.

then... i moved to a small southern town and the only store it had was walmart, and i got to know that the prices really are unbeatable...
i still try to shop elsewhere, just as a personal issue against the ideals of walmart.

the proof is that they are the largest retailer in the world.
they have the lowest everyday prices, but other retailers have specials that beat walmarts prices on any given product on occasion-
Fodaddy 19 is right on the mark. because many manufacturers sell a large portion of their products to walmart but at a really low profit margin, they often produce lower quality stuff to see to walmart.
i have experienced this personnally with Fruit of the Loom products-much lower quality when purchased at WM than at other outlets.
