I have to wear glasses, practically blind without them, and I was the top sales person in our company before I quit.

Its true, some may say that, buttttt, its also true that some people may actually buy MORE from someone wearing glasses. Thry may think it means a the person is so smart they gotta wear galsses ( shades? LOL).

I think wearing glasses does give a small disadvantage to quickly establishing a good connection with a person who is unfamiliar with you. But, overriding this should be easy for a good salesperson. Personality and confidence will override this effect of glasses. I think wearing a hat has even more of a distancing effect.

eye-dunno
6 out of 8 (me included) at my job wear glasses most of the time. Seven if you include the guy who wears contacts. We are in inside sales so it doesn't matter, but we all came from different industries and sales positions (most came from outside sales though). From what I can tell they were all successful at what they did so I think wearing glasses is irrelevant. Especially nowadays when most people wear contact lenses to hide the fact they wear glasses, I think they look past the eyewear.

No. Glasses are irrelevant in sales.
