No, they are neither legally or morally obligated to disclose everyone's salary. Some may elect to publish salary ranges by job grades but that is their option and what they feel is most appropriate for their culture. Companies on the stock exchange are obligated to report and file certain information regarding compensation for their officers/board of directors. If you go to NYSE.com you can review many of the company's SEC filings. |

No, not unless it is publicly funded (schools, government agencies, etc.). Public institutions are required to have completely transparent books, including salaries, so that people may know where tax dollars are spent. But private companies have no obligation to report salaries to anyone except the IRS. |
